What material are your chains made from?

All our chains are crafted from genuine 925 sterling silver (stamped 925). They are solid sterling silver — never plated, filled, or base metal. They are nickel-free, hypoallergenic, and designed for everyday wear.

What does "diamond cut" mean?

Diamond cut refers to our signature polishing process where tiny facets are cut into the silver links. This creates a brilliant, high-shine finish that catches the light beautifully, giving a more luxurious look than standard polished chains.

Are your chains suitable for sensitive skin or children?

Yes. All pieces are hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and tarnish-resistant. Many customers buy our thinner chains (2mm–4mm) for girls and everyday wear without irritation.

How do I choose the right length?

Necklaces: 16–18" for chokers/tight fit, 20" standard, 24"+ for longer layering styles. (see our Necklace Length Guide)

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay/Google Pay (where available). All transactions are secure.

How much is shipping?

UK: Free tracked shipping on orders over £25. £2.95 tracked for orders under £25 (2–3 working days).
USA & Canada Free tracked shipping on orders over $50. $11.95 tracked for orders under $50
International: Flat rate £15 tracked (5–10 working days). We ship worldwide (some restrictions apply).

When will my order ship?

Orders placed before 2pm Monday–Friday are usually dispatched the same day from our UK warehouse. Weekend orders ship the next working day. You’ll receive a tracking email once dispatched.

Do you ship internationally? What about customs?

Yes. International customers are responsible for any local customs duties, taxes, or VAT. Delivery estimates exclude customs delays.

Returns & Refunds

What is your returns policy?

We offer a 30-day returns window for most items. Items must be unworn, in original condition, and returned with packaging. Contact us first for a return authorisation. We’ll refund the item price (shipping costs are non-refundable unless faulty).

What if my item arrives damaged or incorrect?

Please contact us within 7 days with photos. We’ll arrange a replacement or full refund quickly.

How do I return an item?

Email hello@britishchains.com with your order number. We’ll provide instructions and a returns address (UK-based).

Care & Maintenance

How do I care for my sterling silver chains?

Store in the velvet pouch when not wearing.
Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, chlorine, or saltwater.
Clean gently with a soft cloth or mild silver polishing cloth.
Our chains are tarnish-resistant but may develop a natural patina over time — this is normal for real silver.

Will my chain tarnish? Minimal tarnish with proper care, thanks to the high-quality 925 silver and diamond-cut finish. Daily wear is fine.
